Pacto Global

Pacto Global is an initiative of the United Nations, which participants join voluntarily, and provides them with a general framework to foster sustainable growth and civic responsibility of committed and creative companies.

Pacto Global, Red Chile

Currently, more than 10,000 participants from around the world have signed the Global Compact, which is becoming the premier international forum on issues related to globalization. The Executive Directorate of the Chile Global Compact Network operates under the auspices of the Universidad Andrés Bello and its Executive Director is Margarita Ducci Budge.

Launched in 1999 by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and officially launched at UN headquarters in July 2000, the Compact calls on companies to adopt ten universal principles related to human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

The companies participating in the Global Compact are diverse and represent different industries and geographic regions. But they have two common characteristics: they are all in leadership positions and they all aspire to manage global growth in a socially responsible manner that considers the interests of a broad spectrum of stakeholders including employees, investors, customers, social groups, industry and communities.
